Directions for use: Directions for use: Apply the cream liberally to completely cover the whole of the affected area. Apply to the affected area five times a day at approximately 4 hourly intervals for four days. If your cold sore has not healed after this time, you can use the cream for up to 10 days in total. How to use Zovirax Cold Sore Treatment CreamShake Zovirax Cold Sore Treatment Cream well before use. Do not use on large areas of the body or on the lips. Always, follow the instructions on the tube. Rub in lightly. The cream will come out the same way. Shake gently. The cream may disintegrate, therefore if you have it in the open air or dry states, do not rub it through. Try not to do it again. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the one you missed and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not use two doses at once. Carefully measure a single dose of Zovirax Cold Sore Treatment Cream by squeezing the tube. It is important to complete the full course of treatment, even if your cold sore begins to clear up, before the sores break free from dryness. Do not use more or less of it. Use the cream for no more than 10 days. If your cold sore has not healed after 10 days, you may have to use more Zovirax Cold Sore Treatment Cream.
How to apply Zovirax Cold Sore Treatment Cream to skinAlways use the cream liberally to completely cover the whole of the affected area. Always apply the cream liberally to the affected area. Do not rub in deeply. Wash hands thoroughly after use. Do not apply the cream to the skin with hands or outside the skin. Do not touch the treated area. Do not use any other cream.

Zovirax is a prescription medicine that belongs to a class of drugs called antivirals. Zovirax contains aciclovir as its active ingredient and has potent antiviral activity. This medication is mainly used for the treatment of viral infections like genital herpes, cold sores, and chickenpox.
If you are diagnosed with the herpes virus, start the therapy as soon as possible or at the first sign of an outbreak. Your doctor may prescribe you Zovirax tablets depending on your age and medical condition. The tablets are taken orally with or without food.
Take the medication at the same times every day for maximum benefit. Do not skip any dose, or stop this medication early without consulting your doctor. Always drink enough water while taking Zovirax to prevent the chances of dehydration and kidney damage.

Zovirax is a prescription antiviral medication used to treat herpes simplex virus infections in the body. It is used to decrease the amount of virus that can cause blisters on the genitals. This medication helps reduce the risk of getting herpes infections when the virus is already active. It is not used to treat viral infections like cold sores or genital herpes. Zovirax is used to treat viral infections like the common cold or flu, shingles (herpes zoster), and chickenpox.
How to Use:Take Zovirax by mouth as directed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. Do not share the following if you are taking Zovirax: Cold sores on the genitals/herpes simplex virus, cold sores on the genitals or mouth, genital herpes.

Warnings: It is not recommended to use this medication in the hands or feet for long term treatment. This medication should only be used to treat viral infections like cold sores or genital herpes. If you are using a product containing sugar, add it to drinking water. Do not use in children under the age of 12. If you are breastfeeding, make sure to get the correct amount of breastmilk for the nursing infant. Talk with the doctor if you are breastfeeding. This medication should not be used if you are allergic to valacyclov-tams.Zovirax Cream 10g is primarily indicated in conditions like Cytomegalovirus infection prophylaxis, Encephalitis, Herpes simplex, Herpes simplex (in immunocompromised patients), Herpes simplex infection of mucous membrane, Herpes simplex infection prophylaxis, Herpes simplex keratitis, Prophylaxis of herpes simplex, Severe initial genital herpes, Simplex encephalitis, Treatment of herpes simplex, Varicella and herpes zoster, Varicella zoster infections, Varicella-zoster, Varicella-zoster (chickenpox-shingles), Viral conjunctivitis, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in Herpes simplex (prevention of recurrence), Prevention of recurrence of herpes simplex, Treatment of herpes simplex (immunocompromised patients).
Zovirax Cream 10g is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity.
The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Zovirax Cream 10g, which give rise to further complications include Rises in blood urea and creatinine, Encephalopathy, Seizures, Acute renal failure, Renal tubular obstruction. Zovirax Cream 10g produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Coma. which are responsible for the discontinuation of Zovirax Cream 10g therapy. The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Zovirax Cream 10g are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Anorexia, Severe local inflammatory reactions, Tremors, Abdominal pain, Skin rashes, Confusion, Erythema, Lethargy, Itching, Hallucination, Malaise, Elevation of liver enzymes, Contact dermatitis, Agitation, Stinging on application, Crystalluria, Transient burning, Reaction at injection site, Confusion, Skin rashes.
This medication should be used with caution during pregnancy and lactation. Topical preparation (e.g cream) is not recommended for application to mucous membranes, particular care should be taken to avoid accidental introduction into the eyes.
Children under 10 years:This medication should be used only to treat smallangle pain. Limit use in epilepsies, Asymptomatic tremor or spasms. For optimal safety, a full chest x- exam should be conducted before Zovirax Cream 10g is initiated. X-ray or computed tomography (CT) of the head should be sought in any patient with evidence of brain or spinal cord lesions. Therapy with acyclovir should be initiated at the lowest effective dosage (250 mg every 8 hours) and periodically changed. Aciclovir is not a controlled drug and should be used with caution in the following cases: Asymptomatic postural changes. Zovirax Cream 10g produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Anorexia, Severe local inflammatory reactions, Tremors, Abdominal pain, Skin rashes, Crystalluria, Transient burning, Reaction at injection site,agitation, Stinging on application,loss of motor control,aggractionalratherthanrespective of severity. Cold injury or flu treatment. Zovirax Cream 10g should be used with caution in patients with a known history of hypersensitivity to aciclovir or any of the other ingredients of the product. Patients with a known history of rheumatic disease should be closely monitored and any changes in medical status should be discussed with the doctor immediately. Patients with liver or kidney disease should be monitored first. Close monitoring for clinical worsening should be instituted. Close monitoring for signs of allergic reactions should be instituted in these patients. Zovirax Cream 10g should not be given to patients with a known history of these symptoms. Long-term therapy with aciclovir in combination with lithium or valaciclovir in combination with dexamethasone is generally considered sufficient to control viral infections and is generally not recommended for use in children and adolescents. The use of Zovirax Cream 10g in combination with corticosteroids is not recommended.
